In 1752 Jacopo Muselli, the famous coin collector of Verona, published the Numismata Antiqua, a catalogue of his well known collection. In 1760 the book had a sequel, the Numismata Antiqua Recens Adquisita, describing the new entries of the collection. In this last part of the catalogue Muselli gave a section to his 19 phoenician coins. A comparison between the catalogue of Muselli and the modern catalogue of the collection highlights the good reliability of the Muselli's catalogue. Lastly, The Osservazioni letterarie by Scipione Maffei reserved a critical essay to some of the coins, giving a good piece of news about the history of the phoenician coins.
