Innovation networks received an extensive attention as an effective notion for representing and investigating multiagent collaboration systems for innovation. This entry illustrates a specific type of innovation network for the development of radically new or improved services between public and private agents, namely Public-Private Innovation Networks in Services (PPINSs). PPINSs emerged within service-oriented economies as a new phenomenon that enhances complementarities and synergies between the specialist knowledge bases and competences of public, private and third sector organizations for the production and diffusion of innovations, including non-technological forms of innovation that have long remained invisible to the lens of traditional indicators.
